About Erik Dodder
I am a Graduate from Auburn University with a degree in Business Analytics. My classwork consisted of analytical courses using software such as Excel, Tableau, Python/Gemini AI, RStudio, Gephi, SQL, Google BigQuery, and Knime. I would say the thing I learned the most besides a basic proficiency with all of these softwares, is the ability to learn efficiently and effectively in the IT world. I also had classes that helped with my business understanding such as Strategic Management, IT Project Management, Essentials of Entrepreneurship, and Competitive Strategies in Information technology to name a few. Aside from College I have had two internships. My first internship was a business analyst intern with Fire Protection Services. I was able to use a visualization tool called Amazon Quick sights to create meaningful visualizations to be used by managers at the company. Another responsibility during this internship was data cleaning inside of Service Trade. Service Trade is a software Fire Protection Services uses to keep track of their inspections. My task was to export the datasets form Service Trade into Excel, correct any errors within the dataset, and reupload the newly correct dataset back into Service Trade. The other internship I had was a data analyst intern at Pozyx. This internship was much more about learning how PowerBi operates and utilizing it the best I could. My main task during my time with Pozyx was to recreate the forklift analytics dashboards from their software into PowerBi. Once I had recreated teh visualizations, I went a step further and made newer and more sophisticated visualizations. I was able to utilize Microsoft Power Apps, Heat Maps, and Process Mining in order to create these new meaningful visuals. I had the opportunity to learn about database relationships using primary and foreign keys in to relate the different datasets. During my time in Auburn I joined multiple organizations. I joined the professional development business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. The business fraternity has given me resume feedback and interview practice. I have also joined the social fraternity Delta Chi. In Delta Chi I have ran for the new member educator position and was elected to become the educator for the 2023 spring semester. This position has taught me valuable skills such as adaptability, time management, and leadership. As a new member educator, it is my job to instruct the new members on where and when to attend events and what information they need to know while becoming a new member.
