Lead the firm-wide development and execution of Information Governance (IG) strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the secure, compliant, and efficient management of information assets. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess risk, implement best practices, and foster a culture of accountability and governance across the organization. Also responsible for operational oversight of the Richmond office.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop and implement information governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the proper management, protection, and retention of information assets• Monitor and enforce compliance with ethical walls and matter mobility processes to prevent conflicts of interest and maintain client confidentiality• Supervise the firm’s Matter Mobility Coordinator and a team of paralegals responsible for managing client matter transfers into and out of the firm• Supervise a team of Information Governance Analysts responsible for managing permissions controls in compliance with firm policies, ethical walls, and Outside Counsel Guidelines, and for responding to inquiries about compliance with information governance policies• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Committee to address legal holds, e-discovery requests, and other firm-centric legal processes• Conduct periodic assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of matter mobility processes and ethical wall enforcement, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.• Stay current with legal industry trends, standards, and local and federal regulatory obligations as they affect information governance for the practice of law and the administrative functions of the firm • Propose and participate in analysis of new technology and continuous improvements of existing technology that may have an impact on information governance
