Within the Directorate-General for Research & Innovation I am the deputy chief economist and deputy head of unit of the Common Research and Innovation Strategy and Foresight Service.The team supports the production of evidence on the contribution of research and innovation, and in particular of research and innovation funding, to the Commission’s policies. It also coordinates foresight across Horizon Europe and supports with insights the preparation of Horizon Europe’s strategic plans and work programmes.Moreover, the unit co-creates and supports the production of evidence on the transformative role of research and innovation as enablers and drivers of the twin green and digital transitions and the economic recovery, and its outreach, including through the work of the high level Expert Group on the economic and societal impact of research and innovation.It is also the unit of the Chief Economist of DG R&I providing targeted analyses and flagship reports on the economics of research and innovation in the broad sense, underpinned by all relevant statistics and indicators.
