About Erik Brooks

I am a community leader with more than 25 years of professional communications experience. Today, I lead Brooks Communications + Community, a full-service firm focused on telling the story of the people, places, history and traditions that make us, our municipalities, our businesses, and our organizations unique - starting with clear, concise, accurate and compelling communications. It is a passion I\'ve had my entire professional life, one that includes a decade in sports, news and business journalism; 12+ years in corporate communications at Miller Brewing Co; and leadership of Carl Collective, a unique, Marquette University-partnered communications, PR, advertising, and marketing firm, powered by some of the best and brightest students in the country. I am committed to community service, and as mayor of South Milwaukee drove significant investments in economic development, partnerships, communications, and other areas. My basketball coaching journey started with my own kids and soon grew to include other young people who became like family. Now, coaching is a passion I’ll have forever. A passion to help others through basketball. A passion to teach lessons on and off the court. A passion to give back. A passion for the game.
