With decades of experience in the federal government and national security space, our team has strong networks in the executive and legislative branches. We understand how to help clients navigate the classified and unclassified levels in defense, intelligence, and homeland security.Prior to joining Michael Best Strategies’ Defense and National Security Practice, I served as Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during both the Trump and Biden Administrations. In this role, I was the principal advisor to the Chairman and Joint Staff for all Congressional matters, significantly improving Congress-Joint Staff relations while connecting disparate staffs and departments to enable stronger collaboration for better outcomes. Previously I served as a Director for Strategy, Plans and Policy, for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and as the Legislative Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army (CSA), developing and executing the CSA’s Congressional engagement strategy, working directly with members of Congress and their staffs.
