ProfessionallyI am a multi-skilled Graphic Designer with over 39 years of experience in the fast-paced, deadline-driven world of corporate America. I am self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a team setting where members collaborate towards a common goal. I have worked in both Windows and Apple operating systems and currently use many of the Adobe CC software applications. My career started in the pre-computer era where Designers utilized drafting boards, technical pens, ruby-lith film, as well as waxing copy to blue-lined matte boards before eventual pre-press photography. I am self-taught in web development starting out with raw html code in Notepad to Dreamweaver and now Adobe AEM. Throughout my career I have continually disciplined myself to be on the cutting edge of the latest tools of graphic communications.I have been an artist my entire life having an edge over most in my ability to visualize and work quickly to obtain a final result. I had wonderful mentors in school and in my early career that ingrained in me the aspects of quality design. From color theory to a well-balanced visual canvas, my experience over the years has taught me that although technology has made my job more time efficient, it cannot replace a quality Designer. Sadly, one of my biggest frustrations in the present world of digital arts is the lowering of standards for quality design. The mind-set that “If I like it, it must be good!” rules our world as it gives no value to actual good design and the proper principles of functionable visual communication. I\'m very blessed to do what I love each day and am very fulfilled in providing quality work to better my companies success.PersonallyI strive to live a life that honors and reflects Godly integrity, ethics, and character. Having the opportunity to lead in many aspects of my life, I have learned many valuable lessons. For one, leadership is not about a title or position, but rather the responsibility to nurture an environment of safety and success for those under our charge. In all humility, I smile when I hear folks speak about their “legacy”. To me, legacy is not about my employment resume or obtained earthly possessions. But rather, it is about those I have touched personally by living out my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ.
