As the head of technology at a non-profit providing shelter, housing, and transitional housing to vulnerable youth, I inherited a severely neglected IT environment. To swiftly identify and address the most critical needs, I collaborated with Agency Board members, Officers, Leaders, and staff. I restructured IT funding processes to create sustainable approaches within existing grants and contracts while improving their language with a long-term focus. Implementing solutions that catered to both staff-facing and back-office needs, I also aimed to address technology concerns that were impacting staff retention. Notable accomplishments- Security improvements and deployments: • Deployed Multi-factor authentication (MFA), and advocate for it where possible. • Strengthened email security measures. • Implemented regular Security and Anti-Malware Training for staff- Agency and IT process improvements implemented: • Vendor Management. • Developed and deployed an Agency Intranet. • Multiple Cloud Migrations- Client-Facing improvements: • Initiated a client internship program, offering real-world experience for the people we serve. • Worked on multiple technology deployment efforts with multiple vendors, deploying laptops, portable hotspots, and phones to our clients.
