About Eric Lowry

Hello! My name is Eric Lowry and I\'m a former bumper car mechanic. I am now a full-stack web developer and Senior AWS Engineer with a passion for learning and strong a background in Contact Centers and integrations.While attending school at California State University Long Beach, I worked for a small telecommunication company, and learned how to program in the Nortel/Avaya line of enterprise-grade telephone system platforms.After graduating, I continued in the information technology space, leveraging my Nortel/Avaya expertise to support the telephone network for the Disneyland Resort parks and hotels. This led to my first Senior Engineer role at Pacific Life Insurance Company supporting their Unified Communications infrastructure. I had done quite a bit of growing. I knew how to work with a range of platforms. I learned how to program voice networks and call flows by scripting in proprietary languages. I sharpened my ability to work with customers and help interpret technology. I learned that I loved to learn. However, something was still missing.Enter AWS and Amazon Connect (Amazon\'s Contact Center solution). I had the privilege to watch a team of developers enhance the \"out of the box\" functionality of Connect by leveraging other AWS services. The connective tissue of these services was made up of AWS Lambda functions built with languages like Node.js and Python. To me it seemed like a superpower, and I WANTED THAT POWER!I enrolled in an accelerated web development program at LearningFuze, a local bootcamp, where I dedicated 10-12 hours a day to my education as a developer. I learned new languages and technologies like JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, PostgreSQL and much more. I was able to build a strong foundation for this new developer chapter in my life.Shortly after completing my time at LearningFuze, I joined the team at VoiceFoundry as an AWS Engineer designing and delivering dynamic contact center solutions and integrations powered by Amazon Connect and the AWS ecosystem. I\'ve continued to learn wherever possible, adding even more languages and technologies to my arsenal such as Typescript, Python, AWS CDK, and more. I have passed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification exam, and am currently working towards my next AWS certification.
