About Eric Messerly

I have worked as a structural engineer in the building construction industry since January 1998. When I started working after grad school, I worked at URS Corporation for three years, and then at SMBH, Inc for thirteen years. Now, I have returned to working at URS Corporation as a senior structural engineer. I am an active member of several professional organizations, a past President of the Columbus Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and I am a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and two other states. I received my Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and earned a Masters in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Specialties: I have collaborated on many complex projects to create designs that are not only practical and economical but also dramatic and exciting. I have used the latest computer programs and structural modeling techniques along with traditional engineering methods and experience to create these designs in both a timely and a thorough manner. My experiences in a wide variety of projects and in the construction field have given me the ability to adjust and excel in various design situations.
