About Eric Mauser
I currently work as Associate Director of Gene Based Assays at Sana Biotechnology and am the vector analytical strategy lead for a groundbreaking pre-clinical program. I have contributed data and BLA authoring for Breyanzi, a FDA approved best in class commercial cell therapy, as well as two successful INDs, several INDas, RTQs, and IRs. I have expertise in molecular biology, especially qPCR, viral vector technology and manufacturing (lenti and gamma), and mammalian cell culture. I have used these skills to design novel molecular assays to characterize cellular drug product and vector, as well as to further improve existing assays based on quantitative analysis. Additionally, I work with Industry leading CMOs to develop and manufacture large scale GMP grade viral vectors. I excel in rapidly changing and dynamic development environments and lean on my 6.5 years of experience in cell therapies to remain flexible yet persistent in the face of the many challenges that arise in the cutting edge gene therapy industry. I am a capable independent contributor and manager that can meet the big picture goals of my team and program. My motivation is to not just do my job, but to be a contributor to the overall success of my team and ultimately to help patients with previously untreatable diseases live a healthy life. I am a highly motivated, goal oriented individual and I always desire to learn more. I seek to improve my skills with familiar procedures and am confident that I can easily learn and eventually master new ones. I am readily able to adapt to meet new goals and welcome new challenges. Examples of procedures and techniques I am experienced with: • qPCR, endpoint PCR, qRT-PCR • nucleic acid isolation/extraction Flow cytometry • RNA libraries for RNASeq • SDS-Page and Western Blot • Agilent Bioanalyzer analysis • Bacteria plasmid, yeast protein expression systems, and viral vector systems • bacterial and yeast transformation, animal cell transfection • viral transduction of human cell lines • Primer design, molecular cloning, and plasmid construction • mamallian, insect, yeast and bacterial cell culture, sterile technique • ELISA assays • HPLC-MS • IR, Fluorescence spectroscopy • assay and SOP development • MS Office, BLAST, MACVector, PyMOL, Chimera, JMP, Flojo, FACS Diva, Genious, and R software experience • Presentation, speaking, and writing • Inventory Management • Laboratory Management • Website Management • Technical Consulting • Customer Relations
