About Eric Lockley
Eric Lockley is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He holds a BFA in Drama with a double major in Africana Studies. Eric has performed in various productions at Tisch including The Winter’s Tale, Black Girl, Inside the Belly of the Beast, and Richard Wesley’s Black Terror. Eric has also performed in a number of devised-theater pieces where the cast and director collaborate to write and develop a play that the cast then performs. Most notable are 07:00 Seconds, a piece based on the best-selling book BLINK by Malcolm Gladwell in which Eric played Amadou Diallo, and CHAINS, a show that he performed while abroad in South Africa that utilized spoken word poetry to tell the fantasies and realities of a group of junkyard workers.In addition to his theatre, he recently wrote, produced and acted in The Jump, a short film about what happens when a boy’s sense of magic is tarnished by an encounter with bullies at a pool. And the only brave act can remind him that the magic\'s been inside him all along. The Jump has been screened at:Philly Blackstar Film Festival Martha Vineyard\'s African American Film FestivalDowntown Community Television Center DAMN! Film SeriesThe Jump will be shown at the Urbanworld Film Festival & Baltimore International Film Festival within the September and October 2016\'.He is also in the process of developing a one-man show, Asking For More, which was written as a part of The Globesity Festival, a festival that looked at America’s habit of over consumption especially related to food. Having recently been apart at Solo Sundays at Theatrelab, the show was hailed as educational and inspiring, and is in the course of completing the script to tour around the country.
