About Eric Kang Ting

Prof. Eric Kang Ting graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine with Magna Cum Laude and the Gold Award with DMD in 1991, becoming the first Asian ever to obtain those awards. He received an orthodontic certificate and a D.Med.Sc from Harvard University in 1994. Professor Ting was the Academic Senate tenured Professor, Chair of the Clinical Specialties (pediatric, orthodontics, periodontics, and endodontics), and founding chair in the Division of Growth and Development (Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics) at UCLA with a joint professorship at the School of Medicine and School of Engineering. Professor Ting served as the orthodontics chair at UCLA from 20••••19. Professor Ting is an adjunct professor at the Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, MA, USA, Visiting Professor Taiwan National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University College of Dentistry, and the Executive Board Director of the International Orthodontics Foundation Dr. Ting has a Google Scholar H-Index of 64 and is one of the top three orthodontists in the world. Ting’s original research has received more than 14,600 citations. Dr. Ting has received more than $30M in funding from the U.S. government as a key investigator in his career. Prof. Ting’s successful NASA International Space Station (ISS) collaboration project was the first-ever live return of drug-treated rodents from the ISS. As one of the principal investigators, Prof. Ting managed logistics and communications across 12 core teams from multiple academic institutions, governmental agencies, and private sectors involving 150 researchers. For UCLA alone, the project involved over 15 graduate and postdoctoral researchers, six professors, and three graduate schools (Dentistry, Medicine, and Engineering). In 2018, Professor Ting and his team received the International Space Station (ISS) Innovation Award for Biology and Medicine for Development of NELL-1 Bone-Growth Systemic Therapy by the American Astronautical Society. Dr. ting is currently the Founder and President, Saint Therapeutics (st-therapeutics.com/home/). Saint Therapeutics (ST) is a clinical-stage regenerative medicine company developing a first-in-class peptide platform, SLI-F06, targeting high-value indications in surgical scar reduction and chronic wound repair. ST is positioned to address significant unmet clinical needs across multi-billion-dollar global markets.
