About Ericka Marshburn
Who am I? The title says “Global Operations Manager”. What that really means is I’m training & development, logistics, talent/capacity planning and workforce/staffing management all rolled into one. In a nutshell, I manage the workforce of global companies, as well as the training of that workforce. I’m the person who manages team staffing for the organization’s locations around the world. It’s like a puzzle to me and I know how to connect the pieces together. This includes understanding which facility needs talent now and in the future; from which country and in which time zone, and understanding the labor laws that go with this. I’m also your scheduling manager for global talent. My success is in attention to details, keeping track of daily, weekly and monthly work schedules for as many as 400 employees. Improving employee performance is also something I enjoy and excel at. My biggest success was recommending in-house training that I began with 1 class and expanded to a Training and Development program of 40 classes still in use today. In general terms, I’m a project manager, since everything I do is a project of some sort. We start out with a strategy, develop a plan for execution – including tactics – and I manage the entire process. At the end of the day, I want to know my work made a difference and I believe my success speaks for itself: I was hired to improve compliance of product installation at locations in the U.S, Europe, Asia and Latin America; achieved 90% compliance goal by the end of my contract.
