About Erick Alvarez
I am an experienced Reservoir Geophysicist with 23 years in the industry, specializing inQuantitative Interpretation (QI) applicable to the whole cycle from Exploration to Field Development and Reservoir Monitoring. I have expertise in 4D seismic, Rock Physics, AVO, Petrophysics, Risk Analysis, and Seismic Processing. I have worked in projects from over 30 countries worldwide and have been recognized for my contributions in several publications in scientific magazines and symposiums. Currently, I am a Principal QI Geophysicist at Shell Global UK Ltd, supporting Opportunity Identification and Portfolio operations globally and serving as a subject matter expert for 4D seismic inversion. I also participate actively in the development and deployment of new technology for quantitative interpretation internally. This includes Probabilistic inversion, machine learning algorithms, 4D seismic modelling and inversion and rock physics. I am passionate about leading and collaborating with teams to drive innovation and excellence in quantitative interpretation and positively impacting business decisions.
