About Erick Christian Cruz
Erick has at least ten years of extensive and hands-on experience in the field of geotechnical and structural engineering, design, and planning. Structures he has dealt with include low-rise to high-rise mixed-use structures, hospitals, academic facilities, commercial buildings, infrastructures such as highways and railways, underground structures such as rail transit tunnels, and industrial facilities such as gas plants and power plants. Well-versed with international codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, UBC, BS, EuroCode, and AS/NZ standards, he has successfully worked on several international projects located in Asia, Middle East, Australia and UK. He was also a geotechnical engineer consultant for soil boring companies, where he interpreted and analyzed soil-boring logs, and prepared geotechnical investigation reports. He also performed and analyzed foundation QA/QC tests for these companies. His PhD research focused on solving industry-related problems by performing numerical simulations of building, its foundation and the soil continuum to explicitly incorporate soil-structure interaction, under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Louis Briaud.
