   Erick Brown is a Risk Assurance Director in the Philadelphia office specializing in the evaluation of internal controls for PLS (Pharma Life Sciences) and CIPS (Consumer and Industrial Products and Services) clients. Assessments include PLS client\'s overall risk landscape including IT and financial controls for companies and their third parties (CROs, manufacturers, distributors etc.). Over his career at PwC, Erick has worked with companies to manage internal and external SOX 404 audits, ERP-related security evaluations, financial audits, privacy assessments, finance/IT integrations, GxP compliance assessments and business process evaluations. This includes controls design assessments for PLS specific business processes such as payroll/HR, gross to net, pharmaceutical manufacturing, R&D, fixed assets and quality (GxP, GMP, GAMP, 21 CFR part 11 etc.). Most recently, Erick has been assisting large global PLS company manage their IT and finance control risk landscape during a major acquisition. Erick’s focus within the PLS industry is privacy and information security. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). Erick has helped his clients perform privacy assessments including data classification, inventories and mapping, assessments against leading practices. Erick has assisted clients with information risk assessments including evaluating the information life cycle, policies, and systems to provide risk based recommendations and roadmaps improvements. Assessments have included privacy program assessments, vendor risk management, SOC 2 attestation reports over the privacy principle and GDPR readiness assessments.
