Own and run the Kubernetes Engineering team of 7+ engineers in Capital Markets. I am responsible for working with our Kubernetes vendor to deliver their software on-prem in an air-gaped environment and providing additional value to our developers/customers by adding additional features to our clusters that are key to our success. Some the key deliverables we have completed in just over one year are the following on 20+ Kubernetes clusters using GitOps, leveraging FLuxCD- Full Observability stack using Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Grafana Alloy and Loki - Vault Agent - Cert Manager integration with our internal Certificate Authority as an issuer - Keda - Trident - Ingress Nginx

ABOUT ERICK BOURGEOIS
Platform engineering leader with 15+ years building and scaling container infrastructure at global financial institutions. Currently heading Kubernetes Platform Engineering at RBC Capital Markets, where I lead a team managing 50+ clusters across multi-cloud environments. Previously at Morgan Stanley, I built container orchestration systems before Kubernetes existed, scaling to 75K servers across six data centers. I\'m passionate about the cloud-native ecosystem and give back through conference speaking (KubeCon Europe, KubeCon Japan, FluxCon) and open-source contributions, including Rust-based Kubernetes controller for DNS management. I enjoy collaborating with startups on Configuration as Data and zero trust architectures. My sweet spot is bridging the gap between cutting-edge cloud-native tooling and the rigorous compliance requirements of regulated industries like banking.
