ABOUT ERICA TEKLITS

Erica has over 25 years of experience as a CA, serving public sector, not-for-profit organizations and owner-managed businesses. Her expertise includes work with various community associations, charitable organizations, hospitals, pension plans, for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare service providers. She works closely with a range of government not-for-profits to ensure smooth transitions to PSAB standards, and advises her NPO clients on compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. She is also the BDO National Industry Leader for the Not-for-Profit and Education sector. She previously served on the BDO Public Company Team, and a past presenter at the TSX Venture Exchange on the role of the auditor, corporate governance, and financial reporting. Erica applies her past expertise in working with public company clients to address stewardship and financial reporting obligations within the not-for-profit sector. Her significant not-for-profit client base includes mid to large sized organizations working at the national, regional and municipal levels. She is also actively involved as an executive board member within community organizations and has been a key speaker at several conferences. Her speaking engagement topics have included financial literacy, regulatory changes, creating new revenue streams, and enhancing efficiencies through technology and innovation.
