About Erica Sircy Duke
I graduated with a second bachelor\'s degree in May 2024 from Tennessee Tech University after pursuing a career change to focus on environmental issues. My bachelor\'s is in environmental biology and I obtained dual minors in sustainability studies (focused on parks and protected areas) and geology. I\'m currently working as an Ecologist with Resource Environmental Solutions where I travel across the Southeast to collect various types of data in wetland and stream habitats (geomorphology, hydrology, vegetation, macroinvertebrate, etc.). My team and I utilize this data to determine ecological health and functionality in accordance with the Clean Water Act via various government agencies. My personal areas of interest include community ecology, human/animal interactions, ornithology, and ecological impacts of human-driven climate change. I plan to continue my studies in wildlife biology in the future and hope to focus on wetland and/or shore-dependent avian species.
