As Chief Experience Officer, I serve as the strategic architect of Ashé Cultural Arts Center’s brand, communications, and external engagement—shaping how the organization is experienced by the public, partners, funders, and community stakeholders. Working in close collaboration with executive leadership, I lead marketing, communications, sponsorship, and membership strategies that advance Ashé’s mission, visibility, and cultural impact.Key Responsibilities & Impact-Lead organizational marketing, communications, sponsorship, and membership strategies in alignment with Ashé’s mission and values-Strategically position Ashé as a thought leader in cultural arts, community development, equity, and the cultural economy at local, national, and international levels-Oversee brand perception, messaging, and storytelling across all platforms, ensuring consistency, integrity, and cultural relevance rooted in the Black aesthetic-Serve as primary spokesperson for media, public appearances, speaking engagements, and industry events-Direct sponsorship development efforts including prospecting, proposal creation, contract negotiation, and partner stewardship-Develop and implement membership programs to strengthen audience engagement, retention, and community support-Manage communications staff and external consultants while overseeing organization-wide marketing and communications calendars-Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, events, operations, and finance teams to align programming, branding, and fundraising goals-Oversee press relations, media outreach, messaging strategy, and content development, including press releases, talking points, and annual reports-Maintain brand governance, policies, and procedures to ensure quality control and intellectual property integrity.This role sits at the intersection of culture, strategy, storytelling, and community, ensuring that every interaction with Ashé reflects purpose, excellence, and authenticity.
