About Erica Lull

As I enter into a full-time mechanical engineering career, I am constantly driven to grow my skillset and knowledge so that I may pursue my passions in a professional environment. Participating in the Edison Engineering development program at GE Vernova enables me to expand my technical scope while I rotate through several different engineering functional groups. Currently, I am working as a design engineer on GE Vernova’s gas turbine compressor module team, where I am growing my experience with technical drafting, FEA static, plastic, and modal analyses, and airfoil design. Furthermore, the program allows me to pursue my master’s degree in mechanical engineering with Georgia Tech. Between leadership development trainings, training courses, graduate classes, and technical projects, I also strive to develop my professional network by participating in committees, reaching out to technical experts, and mentoring interns. I am an organized, dedicated and ambitious engineer, capable of multi-tasking, communicating clearly, and attending to details. I am a confident self-starter and enjoy challenging myself by taking on responsibilities that broaden my technical experience. I have CAD (NX, Solidworks, Fusion 360), FEA (ANSYS, NX Nastran), programming (MATLAB, Python), electronics, design, prototyping, and research experience, and continue to build my technical background everyday. I am seeking any opportunities to gain experience in the field of engineering and to learn from experienced employers and coworkers.

Jan 2025 — Present · Schenectady, NY, US

On the generator rotor design team, I split my time between manufacturing support, lab research testing, and services reporting. I get hands-on learning by walking the shop floor and acting as a first-line production support for day-to-day manufacturing needs. I am also helping generate parts kits to address customer needs for generator servicing and am developing tools to streamline employee responsibilities. Additionally, I get to investigate customer outage causes, using the fundamentals of root cause analysis to determine how to address observed errors on active machines.
