About Erica Krause

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Stony Brook University, with plans to graduate in May 2026. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University in August 2021 and my Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Siena College in May 2016.I have hands-on experience in pediatric nursing, through my work as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at NYU Langone Long Island. In this role, I am responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care and ensuring the best possible patient outcomes through teamwork with the healthcare team. Prior to this, I worked as a Nursing Assistant in the PICU, where I supported patient care and reported changes in patient conditions.Before transitioning to healthcare, I gained valuable experience in the media industry. I worked as a Digital Sales Planner at Hulu, where I developed and executed media proposals, and as a Client Service Representative at Viacom, where I supported account management and client relations.My commitment to community service has been a significant part of my journey. I volunteered at Mercy Medical Center, managing front desk operations and assisting with emergency room admissions. I also contributed to the Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation, where I created and taught lesson plans on disability awareness and inclusion. Additionally, I have supported Cycle for Survival Fundraisers and the Last Hope Animal Shelter, and promoted local blood drives through the Red Cross Club.I hold certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and I have a Child Abuse Certification from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. I am also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN).With a background in both healthcare and business, combined with a passion for community service, I am dedicated to making meaningful contributions to pediatric nursing and healthcare advocacy.
