ABOUT ERICA ISAACS

I specialize in early-stage innovation—helping hospitals, clinicians, and researchers turn clinical insights into actionable strategies and user-informed solutions that improve patient care and streamline clinical workflows.My career began at the intersection of science and empathy. As a product development engineer, I designed feeding tubes for pediatric & adult patients — translating clinical needs into devices that helped people get essential nutrition. But I felt a disconnect between myself and the people I was designing for. I wanted to better understand their experiences and bridge the gap between development & end users.That led me to shift from technical execution to the front end of the innovation process — identifying unmet needs and shaping strategy to deliver solutions that are as impactful as they are human-centered. Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with startups, medical device companies, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare systems to uncover insights, spark innovation, and co-create solutions that serve patients, providers, and the business.I bring a unique lens to healthcare delivery and innovation strategy — blending systems thinking, user research, and storytelling to shape solutions that are not only effective but meaningful. I believe deeply that health equity must be core to how we design. Solutions should address not just direct care, but access, education, long-term management, mental health, etc.Outside of work, you’ll find me hiking, camping, or exploring all the food and culture Chicago has to offer.
