ABOUT ERICA EDWARDS

I am a connector, collaborator, and catalyst who brings people together through thoughtful events, partnerships, and community-centered initiatives.My work sits at the intersection of community engagement, program design, and experience-building. At Durham Family & Cultural Centre, I lead partnerships, fundraising, and events that strengthen connection, celebrate culture, and respond to real community needs. I design spaces where people feel welcome, supported, engaged, and where collaboration leads to action.I have led large-scale community initiatives including the Black Joy Holiday Market and Afro-Caribbean Food Baskets, working closely with community partners, local businesses, and municipal stakeholders. My experience includes planning public-facing events, convening agencies, facilitating workshops, and building relationships that move ideas from concept to delivery.As Community of Practice Coordinator for Ontario’s Innovative Supports for Black Parents and Student Family Advocates, I support equity-focused organizations through shared learning, convening, and knowledge exchange. I am particularly skilled at bringing diverse stakeholders into the same room and helping them work together with intention and clarity.At the core of my work is a belief that meaningful experiences build trust, strengthen community, and create momentum.
