ABOUT ERICA ZELL
Ms. Zell is an Environmental Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in renewable energy, domestically and internationally. Ms. Zell has joined the New Markets Team for bp\'s Onshore Renewables division. Previously, as a Senior Director at Orsted, she supported development of onshore utility scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects. She filled multiple roles in bringing more than 1800 MW of wind and 650 MW of solar online, from detailed GIS analysis and fieldwork to coordination of projects across development, engineering, transmission, resource analysis, procurement, construction, and origination teams. She also co-chaired the Onshore Digitalization Board and served as the Community Service Lead for the Austin, Texas office. Prior to Orsted, Ms. Zell held positions at E.On Climate and Renewables, the Austin Energy Commission, and Battelle Memorial Institute. At Battelle, Ms. Zell spent 2 years in Saudi Arabia leading a solar and wind resource monitoring project in collaboration with the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), engaging with local stakeholders to create an online renewable energy atlas. She is a certified Project Management Professional and has led consulting projects for NASA, EPA, and USAID. Prior to focusing on renewable energy, she worked in air quality, environmental policy, and climate change adaptation, conducting trainings in Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. She lives in Austin, Texas.
