ABOUT ERICA YUNYI HUANG
Hello! I am currently a PhD student of Politics at UT Austin and lead the Renewable Energy team at UT\'s research lab Innovations for Peace and Development. My research interests lie at the intersection of international political economy (trade, investment, and development finance) and environmental politics in the context of emerging markets. I am particularly interested in the domestic determinants of China’s outward economic activities, and their impacts in the Global South. Prior to UT Austin, I earned my degrees from Peking University and Johns Hopkins SAIS, where I had multiple independent or collaborative research experiences. I also worked as a Policy Analyst for NGOs in international environmental negotiations using my knowledge of government strategy and global governance, and interned for think tanks and intergovernmental organizations.
