Florida Policy Institute is an independent, non-partisan, and non-profit organization dedicated to advancing policies and budgets that improve the economic mobility and quality of life for all Floridians. We do this through research, strategic outreach, coalition building, and policy advocacy- Produces analyses of state budgets and policies—with an emphasis on Medicaid, child health insurance (Florida’s CHIP program), and health funding-Partners with internal and external stakeholders to collect and analyze health policy developments in Florida-Develops relationships with grassroots advocates, legislators, and media to lift up state policy solutions-Generates fact sheets, blogs, issue briefs, and detailed reports that are both informative and easily digestible by the public-Serves as a subject-matter expert in health policy and legislative advocacy that impacts Floridians’ Health-Tracks and monitors Florida’s legislative process for fiscal impacts on health policy-Coordinates cross-functional working groups with a diverse set of internal partners, including coalition management duties-Identifies opportunities to expand FPI’s presence in coalitions and with allies, building capacity to partner locally, statewide, and nationally-Participates in statewide coalitions and state and national conferences, conduct media interviews, and publish op-eds to further discussion on relevant state issues.
