ABOUT ERICA KAUNANG

As a first-generation advocate, I leverage my varied experiences across arts and non-profit sectors to envision and implement social impact campaigns that empower and center marginalized communities. I have developed skills in grant writing, social media communications, partnership development, and event production. I am passionate about socially impactful storytelling, community building, and education, and I have pursued these interests throughout my academic and professional endeavors. I graduated from Haverford College, where I explored the cultural, historical, and political dimensions of identity, migration, and belonging, especially within AAPI communities. As an Associate Producer for ABOVE AND BELOW THE GROUND (dir. Emily Hong, 2023) and an A-DOC Social Impact Fellow, I learned how to use documentary filmmaking as a tool for social change and community empowerment. As an Executive Assistant, I managed the daily operations and communications of the organization, as well as contributed to the execution of key programs and events.
