About Eric Sildon
Eric Sildon leads SAP\'s US State and Local Government Affairs program, representing the company’s varied corporate and business interests before government and public officials. In his role, Eric oversees state legislative and political engagement, supports public sector business development efforts, champions public affairs strategies in the states and advances the company\'s regional leadership and local office involvement in the public arena. Eric joined SAP with more than 30 years of engagement in the legislative, political and public affairs fields. His previous experiences include serving as a senior legislative staffer in the US House of Representatives for a future Cabinet Secretary, lobbying Congress on behalf of Independent Business owners, and representing Fortune 500 companies before state government leaders. Most recently, he managed congressional engagement and public sector advocacy for Connected DMV, a cross-sector, cross jurisdiction organization that brings together business, government, non-profit and academic entities across metropolitan Washington (DC-Maryland-Virginia) to solve complex regional priorities. Immediately prior, he spent 14 years growing and managing Accenture\'s state government relations program throughout the United States. Before that, Eric spent nearly a decade providing strategic counsel to help corporate clients successfully navigate state and local government, while an executive at a national government relations firm. In the political field, Eric directly supported the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and was the DNC’s Director of National Membership Service, serving as a primary liaison between the Party and the Clinton Administration. He also served as the National Finance Director at the Democratic Governors Association, worked on various political campaigns (presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and local) and participated on White House advance teams supporting President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. In Virginia, he has served in numerous capacities to strengthen his community. He was a two-term gubernatorial appointee on the Commonwealth’s Waste Management Board, a seven-member regulatory and policy-making body. He Chaired the Arlington County Park and Recreation Commission, and served on the County’s Public Facilities Review Commission and its Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Commission. Eric is a native of Kansas City, where he serves as a proud Board Member of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
