Direct all strategic, operational and financial aspects of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery encompassing 10 clinical divisions, 37+ clinical locations, 7 hospital sites, 225+ faculty, 46 advanced practice providers, 74 residents, 23 fellows, 200+ administrative, research and clinical support FTE’s, an annual consolidated expense budget of $187M, cases performed annually, 340 publications, 2021and 2022 US News and World Report rankings:#4 nationally for Orthopedics • Successfully integrated our colleagues at NYU Langone Long Island into the Department of Orthopedic Surgery with key roles on our existing Department Leadership committees • Worked with multiple stake holders to help develop and implement the Sports Health Initiative, a program that touches all aspects of musculoskeletal care; • Successfully expanded our clinical footprint to include new sites in Staten Island, Westchester, Long Island, Cobble Hill and at the Langone Orthopedic Center • Successfully reduced $3.9M+ in unnecessary expenses from operations since joining the Department and reallocated a portion to fund other programs and initiatives • Established an FGP Spine Surgery presence in Long Island, creating a virtual Pediatric Scoliosis Center with Vertebral Spinal Tethering as a treatment option • Partnered with key stakeholders both at the medical center and down by the square to eliminate barriers to building access at off campus locations • In conjunction with Department Chair, created and implemented annual strategic plans and SWOT analyses encompassing all mission areas and organizational priorities; improved quality outcomes, reputation and recruitment in key sub-specialties of musculoskeletal care • Obtain renderings and a plan for creating a state of the art research and learning center to support the Department\'s clinical research along with resident and fellow education • Successfully expanded the Department’s infrastructure to support expansion across all missions
