About Eric R.

As a kid, I enjoyed solving problems, especially those that required creative solutions (or solutions that had many parts). That interest in problem solving is what led me to the University of Minnesota and a degree in civil engineering. Over time and as my career evolved, I began to enjoy the various elements that lead to a completed, constructed building. From the early concepts through the ins-and-outs of the financing to the actual design and construction, the process of constructing a building – and the teamwork that it requires – is exciting to me. One of the things I enjoy the most about the process is being part of a high-functioning team. The reality is that no building project comes together without an extraordinary amount of collaboration and teamwork. A successful project requires close coordination and communication, but it also requires trust and a basic connection between each of the team members. Building and enhancing those connections is something I’m passionate about. I’m currently a Partner and Director of Strategic Development at Emanuelson-Podas, an MEP/R engineering consulting firm that tackles really cool, really interesting building design projects. It’s a role in which I’m able to build relationships – and complete projects – not only with our own engineers and designers, but also with architects, developers, GCs, and other building professionals. Nothing gives me more satisfaction that setting a goal, putting together a plan, building a team, and then accomplishing the goal.
