About Eric Pearson

Currently New Ventures Manager in Marathon\'s Resource Exploration organization, with previous Exploration Management experience leading our Gabon lease maturation effort and our lease acquisition effort in the Adriatic. I spent the first 18 years of my career developing and maturing plays and prospects in wide variety of basins around the world, primarily offshore. I worked on the International New Ventures team in Houston evaluating conventional exploration opportunities in the Adriatic, Mediterranean, Atlantic Margins of North America and Africa, Australia, and onshore East Africa. I spent 4 years in Jakarta maturing our Indonesian leasehold and supporting new ventures efforts across Southeast Asia. I worked 3 years in Aberdeen on the Foinaven production asset, including a near-field exploration effort culminating in the Southwest Foinaven Discovery. While in Aberdeen I was also engaged in new ventures activites in the UK, Ireland, and Norway. My first six years with Marathon were spent working lease acquisition and maturation in the Gulf of Mexico during the exciting period when the industry moved from the amplitude play to deeper objectives and subsalt plays.
