ABOUT ERIC OOMMEN
My name is Eric Rinu Oommen, a sixth form student with a strong ambition to pursue a degree apprenticeship in finance. I\'m currently studying Maths, Economics, Business, subjects that have helped me develop a sharp interest in how financial systems work and how people make decisions within them. I’m particularly drawn to companies that offer real opportunities to grow, learn and make meaningful contributions from day one.A defining moment in my journey came during Year 11 when I was predicted low grades especially in English. Instead of letting that hold me back, I made the decision to take control of my progress. Through consistent practice, focused revision, and determination, I turned things around achieving a 9|9 in both English Language and Literature at GCSE. That experience taught me that I’m capable of pushing far beyond expectations when I fully apply myself.Outside of academics, I’m passionate about football. Playing regularly has taught me valuable lessons in discipline, teamwork and resilience. All qualities I carry help me with everything I do, including my pursuit of a career in finance.My Christian faith also plays a big role in shaping who I am. It gives me purpose, keeps me grounded and strengthens my mindset when facing challenges academically, personally, and professionally.Right now, I’m actively exploring opportunities to gain experience in the finance industry particularly within large firms that value curiosity, work ethic, and long-term development. I’m also deeply interested in fields like financial services or asset management to achieve what’s best for me.I’m always open to connecting with professionals in finance and beyond.
