I am a Geotechnical Engineer with over 20 years of experience with a focus on onshore and offshore renewable energy projects since 2006. I\'ve been the Technical Lead for civil/geotechnical engineering for DNV Energy for the Americas and my primary duties including performing engineering reviews in support of due diligence assessments of utility scale renewable energy projects globally including review of geotechnical investigations, wind turbine and solar array foundation designs and specifications, design calculations, construction submittals, and construction quality control/quality assurance documentation. My experience includes seismic hazard assessments for onshore and offshore wind projects, forensic evaluations of foundation deficiencies and failures, geological/geotechnical hazards evaluations, solar PV foundation assessments and construction monitoring.I have extensive experience in performing numerical modelling of structures, preparation of detailed technical due diligence reports, recommendation of mitigation measures for construction issues that arise and direct participation in discussions with developers, investors, lenders and design engineers regarding foundation designs.My primary interests include advanced soil mechanics, soil behavior under cyclic loading and geotechnical earthquake engineering. I have been a member of various design code development committees including ASCE/AWEA RP 2011 and IEC 61400-6, and have co-authored various papers on foundation design and seismic loading aspects of foundations for various conferences. I am currently the Chair for American Clean Power Association TR-2 Subcommittee developing a Report on Geomaterial Degradation in the Geotechnical Design of Wind Turbine Foundations. The report aims to provide technical guidance on best practice for assessing cyclic degradation of materials supporting foundations subjected to cyclic loads.
