Provide technical assistance and capacity building services to developers of affordable and service-enriched housing and to public housing authorities and public agencies. Carry out public policy research on a variety of community development topics. Examples of current and recent work includes:• Development Finance and Project Management—Assembled and closed the financing for over 75 affordable housing developments totaling over 7,250 units and $1.25 billion in financing. Recent clients include Accessible Space, Inc, Silver Sage Manor, Inc, Ovation Development Corporation, Reno Housing Authority, Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, Nevada Rural Housing Authority, Houston Housing Authority, Harris County Housing Authority, Housing Connect (Salt Lake County) and Vintage Housing. • Housing Needs Assessments—Prepared housing needs assessments and development barriers studies in a number of jurisdictions, including rural Nevada (2006), Washoe County, NV (2007), Humboldt County, NV (2008) and Incline Village/Crystal Bay, NV (2009).• Public Housing Portfolio Assessment / Development Finance Consulting—Provided technical assistance to public housing authorities in the areas of strategic planning, portfolio assessment, mixed-finance development, Choice Neighborhoods Initiative and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) applications and implementation. Current and recent clients include the Dallas Housing Authority, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, Berkeley Housing Authority, Housing Authority of the City of El Paso, Hawaii Public Housing Authority and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. In 2013, Praxis closed the first FHA-insured RAD public housing redevelopment financing in the country (Landsman Gardens in Henderson) and is assisting the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso on the largest RAD portfolio conversion in the country.
