Leading Genome Alberta’s data strategy, governance, and capacity-building efforts across genomics and multi-omics sectors. My role bridges policy, partnership, and program development to enhance the province’s innovation ecosystem and support national and international data-driven research initiatives.Key Responsibilities- Shape and maintain Genome Alberta’s data governance strategy in alignment with provincial and federal priorities- Build relationships across academia, government, and industry to identify and support Alberta’s emerging data and innovation needs- Provide strategic input into project and program development, especially those with a focus on data management- Oversee data requirements and knowledge translation efforts across Genome Alberta’s innovation portfolio- Collaborate with Genome Canada and other Regional Genome Centres to ensure alignment and representation in national initiatives- Manage talent development and placement programs to grow Alberta’s bioinformatics and data science capacity- Support and engage the local informatics community through BioNet Alberta and other capacity-building initiatives- Identify and promote the socio-economic impacts of funded projects, including commercialization opportunities and data accessibility.
