    Leads a diverse, high performing global research group of ~210 biological and material scientists, veterinarians, chemists, toxicologists, biocompatibility SMEs, management and technical support staff, specializing in translational research across the lifecycle of all BSC products. Responsible for setting strategy, advocating within the industry and delivering high quality preclinical data for product development, approval and product sustaining for all divisions at Boston Scientific as well as providing diligence for Mergers and Acquisitions and Integration of Pre-clinical assets and research into BSC. Areas of emphasis cover medical device development for structural heart, peripheral interventions, electrophysiology, urology/pelvic health, endoscopy, interventional oncology and neuromodulation. This role also helps to identify new Business Development and Technology opportunities for BSC through external and internal collaborations brought forth by the divisions and our external research partners. The Vice President has direct responsibility for a team of Director/Fellow level scientists and laboratories at global BSC sites including: Biocompatibility and Toxicology; the Center for Biological Innovation (in-vitro/ex-vivo); Material Testing, Analysis and Characterization laboratory; the Chemical Characterization laboratory and Pre-Clinical Operations and Study Management which comprises the Research and Technology Center (in-vivo). This role also provides scientific vision and diverse knowledge when partnering cross-functionally as well as with internal clients. This position is chartered with the responsibility to ensure that all Pre-Clinical activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable global regulatory, ethics and Boston Scientific’s standards.
