ABOUT ERIC LIDDELL
Eric qualified as a teacher in Liverpool in 1974. His overseas adventures started in Iran in 1977 and ended in Kuwait in 1998 when he left his post as Director of that country’s largest and most prestigious international school. During this period he also served as Chairman of Education and Training to the BBF. In 1998 he was the recipient of the prestigious European Council of International award for the Promotion of International Education. On leaving active school leadership in 1998, Eric trained to be an Ofsted inspector. There followed more than a decade as CEO of QTS International Consultants during which time Eric led inspections; oversaw the appointment of some 50 school leaders; recruited some 900 teaching staff; advised on the foundation of several schools; and initiated the development of school CPD networks in the MENA region. Eric also served as Chair of the Governing Body of a local High School. In 2009, Eric partnered in the launch of TFL Education Ltd, a company whose focus would be the design of a fully resourced classroom curriculum that focussed on the teaching of the skills and behaviours critical to the development of a “successful” student. The development of character, the promotion of values and the importance of self-management became the core aims of the curriculum. By June 2012 TFL courses were being taught in over 80 schools in the UK and Europe. There is growing interest overseas. Schools in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Kuwait, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt have added TFL courses to their curriculum. TFL’s efforts to involve the CMI with their mission led to Eric becoming a Chartered Fellow (FCMI CMgr) and being invited to represent the Royal Charter as “Ambassador for Education.”
