I started at WGBH in August 1977 hosting the overnight jazz show, Artist in the Night 4 nights a weekIn 1979 I hosted a weekly live in studio program called Ethnicity featuring World musicIn May of 1981, I began hosting Eric in the Evening, a popular jazz show that aired 4 nights a week for 31 years. Since 2012 that show has aired 3 nights a week. It is estimated that I have done over interviews with various musicians since the start of that program.During my time at WGBH I have written and recorded copy for promos and fundraising spots.In addition, my responsibilities have included hosting a 6 hour national broadcast from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. For 10 years I hosted the Boston segment of NPR\'s Toast of the Nation. For years I hosted a monthly live performance from WGBH\'s studio. Currently, I host a monthly live broadcast from Boston\'s Scullers Jazz Club.
