Salt Lake City, UT, US

Key member of Mixed-Signal ASIC team developing touch interface control ASICs. Mentored less experienced design engineers by teaching good design practices. Most circuits were designed on a 130nm process and utilized low voltage design techniques.• Specified requirements, designed and simulated switched capacitor Sigma-Delta Converter.• Designed various ADCs and DACs ranging from 6-bits to 12-bits in accuracy.• Designed low offset amplifiers using correlated double sampling (CDS) and auto-zero techniques.• Led top-level simulations with behavior models in Verilog, Verilog-AMS, and Verilog-A.• Designed several novel low-power programmable Current Conveyors.• Designed several Low-Dropout Voltage Regulators (LDOs) of various sizes.• Designed a low-power current DAC.• Designed various block level circuits including bandgap references, amplifiers, comparators, buffers, and oscillators.• Managed Layout Engineers on all designed circuits.• Assisted with all aspects of product release to market from product definition to release to production.• Created plan and budget to create and purchase computer network to run Cadence suite of tools.• Installed and managed computer network, both software and hardware, to run Cadence suite of tools.

ABOUT ERIC GIBSON

I have been in the semiconductor industry for over 15 years in various roles, including Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Designer and Test Engineer. For the past 10+ years, I have been part of several teams that have developed and released ASICs in both the consumer and automotive markets. As a designer, I have worked in both bipolar and CMOS processes in geometries as low as 130nm. I have designed all facets of mixed signal IC designs, including multiple types of ADCs, DACs, Amplifiers, Buffers, Bandgap References, Low Drop out Regulators (LDOs), Comparators, Oscillators, Current Conveyors, and Filters. I have worked as a both an member of a group and individually led projects to specify, design, and manage layout of several integrated circuits that have been successfully introduced to the market. I have worked on both bipolar and CMOS processes with geometries as low as 130nm. I am familiar with the Cadence toolsets, including spectre, AMS, and UltraSim simulators. I am very familiar with writing behavior models in both VerilogA and Verilog-AMS, and on occasion will write Verilog models as well. I am adept in many computer languages including C/C++, Python, Perl, and Java.
