About Eric Forsyth

The culmination of my formal education was earning my doctorate in Sport Administration with a minor in Marketing Management from The University of New Mexico in 1995. I have been a professor at Bemidji State University, located in majestic northern Minnesota, the past 29-years. My two primary duties are teaching courses in sport management and supervising field experiences.With a passion for interscholastic sports, I have achieved over 280 scholarly accomplishments. I have published in various journals, presented at various conferences, and written several text chapters.I served as co-editor for a textbook titled Guide to Interscholastic Athletic Administration\'​ that was published by Human Kinetics. In addition, I am a founding member of the interscholastic athletic administration graduate curriculum standards endorsed NASPE and the have received the distinction as a certified master athletic administrator through the certification program, an endeavor that took 13 years to complete. My most memorable role was having the pleasure serving as President of the Minnesota AAHPERD Association.On a personal level, I have written stories on my outdoor pursuits especially my bear hunting adventures, which have appeared in outdoor magazines. In addition, I wrote two company profiles that appear in a sport brand textbook highlighting their climb to the top in the hunting and fishing industries.I am a member of the \'Iron Butt Association\'​ for riding my motorcycle miles in under 24-hours; three times. Furthermore, I am also a member of the \'Motorcycle Road Warrior Association\' having logged over miles.Yet more importantly, when all is said and done, if my wife can say I was a good husband and my kids can say I was a good dad, then I have truly accomplished something worthwhile.
