   I am a commercial litigator with experience in a wide range of substantive areas, with significant experience in construction, environmental, and other real estate related litigation. I also have handled numerous matters involving non-compete agreements on behalf of the former employer and on behalf of the departing employee. I also handle complex debtor-creditor and fraudulent conveyance litigation on behalf of financial institutions. I have first chair trial experience in state and federal courts, and have served as second chair in numerous other proceedings. I have twice successfully argued before the United States Courts of Appeal (Seventh and Eighth Circuits) obtaining reversals of lower court decisions. I was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1998. I am admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit (2006), the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit (2009), and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana I am a member of the trial bar for the Northern District of Illinois, and I served as a member of the Committee for the United States Northern District Court Prisoner Civil Rights Pattern Jury Instructions. I received my undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1988, and my law degree, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa School of Law, in 1998, where I was Order of the Coif. I served as articles editor of the Iowa Law Review. I received the Federal Bar Association’s Walter J. Cummings Award for Pro Bono Service Committees.
