As Managing Partner, I oversee the nine offices of our Employment Department. In my 20+ years of practice as a civil defense trial attorney, I have developed a sincere passion for employment law as it is one of the most robust, complex and ever-evolving areas of practice in California. After defending and counseling all sizes of businesses, from small individual proprietorships to Fortune 500 companies, I have learned that one size does not fit for all clientele in developing strategies for counseling and defense. It is my approach to learn each individual client’s business culture and to fully partner with them to provide a comprehensive service that meets their particular needs and goals. It is my goal to work with clients, through direct training and compliance counseling, to prevent litigation. When litigation is inevitable, a successful and significant jury trial track record is utilized to mount an aggressive and efficient defense. With the spike of class and representative PAGA actions in recent years, I am proud of the successful results for my clients defeating & minimizing these claims.    Eric De Wames is an accomplished litigator. Eric has found success in litigating employment & labor, premises liability, real estate, business litigation, professional liability, and complex appellate matters. He provides hands-on, thoughtful and efficient counsel with the goal of promoting effective and cost-sensitive results. Eric has litigated hundreds of cases to completion including substantial jury trial experience with successful verdicts for the client. Eric specializes in employment litigation and counseling, providing services tailored to client needs and priorities. A skilled speaker on employment and litigation matters, Eric has served as a guest speaker for numerous conferences including the annual Professionals in Human Resources Conference. A native to Southern California, Eric received his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology, cum laude, in 1998 from the University of California at Davis, where he was a member of the Dean’s List from 1994 through 1998.Eric obtained his Juris Doctor degree in May of 2003 from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated “With Distinction” and with an Advocacy Concentration. He was a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll from through 2003, and received the Witkin Academic Excellence Award and the Traynor Honor Society Award for Academic Excellence.
