ABOUT ERIC CARMONA
Degree in Environmental Sciences from June 2012 by the University of Valencia and Master in Toxicology since June 2013, from the same university. Performed a PhD program in Chemistry (Doctoral Program of Excellence) in the Food Safety and Environmental research group (SAMA-UV) of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Sciences, Toxicology and Forensic Medicine of the Faculty of Pharmacy and being part of the Spanish Research Council and supervised by Dr. Yolanda Picó. In March 2014 published the first article in the journal, included in the SCI, Science of the Total Environment:\"Occurrence of acidic pharmaceuticals and personal care products in Turia River Basin: From waste to drinking water\". In 2017 published a new method, in the Journal of Pharmaceuticals and Biomedical Analysis: “Multi-residue determination of 47 organic compounds in water, soil, sediment and fish—Turia River as case study”, to extract emerging pollutants in environmental solid matrices that improves the efficiency of the classical ones. He has participated in international congresses and national such as Ibero-American Congress on Environmental Contamination and Toxicology (CICTA 2013, Valencia, Spain), Scientific Meeting of the Society Spanish Chromatography and Related Techniques (SECyTA, 2013, 2015 and 2016), the Finish Conference on Environmental Science (Joensuu - Finland, 2017), Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (Rhodes – Greece, 2017) among others. Currently working at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) as head of analytics. Collaborated with some projects at national level as SCARCE - CONSOLIDER or MEFTURIA project and most recently with the project Eco2Tools. He took part of different scientific societies like the Iberoamerican Society of Environmental Toxicology, the Spanish Society of Chromatography and Related Technics and the Finish Society of Environmental Sciences.
