AtkinsRealis currently has the management contract with CNL to run the active Nuclear Laboratories and perform the largest and most complex environmental cleanup in Canada’s history as they take care of Canada’s legacy liabilities for nuclear waste, contaminated buildings and soils. CNL is headquartered in Chalk River, Ontario and has 9 sites in 4 provinces. With over 4500 employees, CNL is the Canadian National Nuclear Laboratory of major scientific research and development to support and advance nuclear technology, particularly CANDU Reactor technology. CNL has expertise in physics, metallurgy, chemistry, biology, and engineering, and hosts unique research facilities. In my role I provide leadership for a team of over 70 personnel both OSH and Health Services to develop and implement comprehensive procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, I am responsible for the development and improvement of tools to help identify opportunities to reduce risks and drive sustained performance improvement.
