ABOUT ERDGIN MANE
Erdgin Mane is a Policy Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where he leads the gender economics and policy portfolio in the Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division. He holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics and Empirical Economics from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and a B.A. in Economics and Commerce, Summa Cum Laude, from the University G. D’Annunzio, Pescara.With nearly 20 years of experience in FAO’s Economic and Social Development stream, Erdgin specializes in generating analytical evidence and statistics on food security and nutrition, gender equality and women’s empowerment, socio-economic development and resilience in agrifood systems. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including World Development, Food Policy, and Global Food Security.He served as one of the lead authors and coordinated the task force behind the 2023 FAO flagship report, The Status of Women in Agrifood Systems. He has also contributed to multiple editions of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report. Erdgin currently leads the analytical and policy work on how agrifood activities, interventions and programmes influence women\'s work, productivity and food security, with a strong focus on policy relevance and operational impact.
