ABOUT ELISHA JEWELL

At my core, I believe libraries and information spaces are about people first; and that strong systems, inclusive access, and thoughtful leadership are what make that possible.Currently, I serve as an Assistant Branch Manager within a regional library system, where I oversee daily operations, staff supervision, financial accountability, and data reporting; making sure services run smoothly for both patrons and the people delivering them.Previously, I led library and media services for a K–12 school community of over students and staff, managing a $1M annual budget and launching a digital resource hub that significantly improved research efficiency and information literacy outcomes. Across roles, I’ve consistently used data-informed decision-making to streamline operations, reclaim staff time, and align services with institutional mission.My background also includes digital preservation and archival work with institutions such as Harvard University and HBCU partners, as well as nonprofit leadership where I secured six-figure grant funding and built cross-sector partnerships to support long-term sustainability.I’m an information professional and library leader with a career rooted in access, people-centered service, and operational excellence. From managing regional library branches to leading large-scale digital initiatives, my work lives at the intersection of community impact, team leadership, and systems thinking.
