Developed and lead a 22 person programming team building Clinical Looking Glass (CLG), a medical outcomes surveillance and quality improvement software system providing actionable health care metrics on longitudinal patterns of care generated from a data repository of clinical and administrative information. It is in production use at Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) and at the Bronx Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO), both in Bronx, New York. CLG fosters a cultural environment rewarding initiative and efficiencies while still protecting patient privacy and standardization of analysis. The Software was sold to Streamline Health October 28, 2013. Mentored development of a predictive analytic solution used by Montefiore Care Management Organization to prioritize follow up interventions. Montefiore generated substantial savings to the Medicare program and achieved the highest financial performance among the 32 Pioneer ACOs, according to initial data reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center. Created the nation’s first self service ad hoc Regional Health Information analytic platform for the Bronx Regional Informatics Center (BRIC). In addition to software design to achieve statutory requirements for opt out individuals, I participated in curriculum development for a new kind of healthcare worker trained in the CLG tool and embedded within the sponsoring health care organizations to make and evaluate local and culturally sensitive interventions to improve quality and reduce cost of care. As a Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and Population Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine I mentor research fellows and analysts in the use of information technology to develop predictive analytics and bias reduction strategies in observational data evaluation.
