About Eric Hu
I’m a multidisciplinary design executive working across technology, fashion, and culture—currently VP of Design at Cohere, based in New York. I lead both the product and brand design functions, evolving our identity beyond its origins with Pentagram and helping scale design as the company grows in the AI space. Alongside this, I continue to run Eric Hu Studio, an independent creative direction and design practice.Over the past 15 years, I’ve built an international profile by combining bold visual thinking with conceptual clarity. My studio work spans brand identity, editorial systems, digital tools, and motion—collaborating with clients including Google, Chanel, Ambush, Netflix, and others across fashion, architecture, and tech.Before starting the studio, I served as Global Design Director at Nike, leading creative for the Sportswear brand globally, overseeing marketing campaigns for the Air Force and Air Max franchises as well as leading the rebrand of NikeLab, Nike Tech Pack, and other in-house brands. I also previously established the first in-house design team at SSENSE, setting the foundation for their visual voice across digital and campaign work.My work has been recognized by ADC Young Guns, featured in publications like It’s Nice That, SixtySix Magazine, and The One Club, and in 2024, I was inducted into AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale), the preeminent global association for graphic design.
