About Dan L.
I am a graduate student who is interested in the latest developments in renewable energy and sustainability, I have become fond of power systems. As a result, I have gained experience in power distribution through the Tiny House Project at University of California, Santa Cruz. In the project I served as the power team lead which taught me the fundamentals of power system and distribution design. Currently I am the communication lead for my senior design project. I am also serving as the motor lead for my senior design project where I am developing a deep understanding of how to implement solar energy to power our system. I am recognized for my attention detail, for my interpersonal communication skills, and for my reliability of performing consistently well under pressure and challenging work environment. When given assignments, I successfully complete the work in a timely manner. I have maintained a 3.60 out of a 4.00 GPA and been on the dean’s honor list twice throughout my years at UCSC while taking a heavy course work of classes and even graduate-level courses. Additionally, I am involved with different organizations at my school such as Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA), TAU BETA PI (TBP) The Engineering Honor Society, and in Society of Hispanic Professionals Engineering (SHPE). All these organizations have given me great satisfaction because I have served as a tutor where I have been a mentor and inspiration to many students. Through all these accomplishments, I have defined myself to others as a leader who yearns to promote growth in the people. With my experiences, I understand what is needed to be a potential successful engineer.
